Michael Ghil has been awarded the Alfred Wegener Medal & Honorary Membership
of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) for 2012!

Michael has been awarded the Alfred Wegener Medal & Honorary Membership of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) for 2012. This twofold honor is one of the three equally-ranked most prestigious awards made by the Union, and it is reserved for scientists who have achieved exceptional international standing in atmospheric, hydrological or ocean sciences, defined in their widest senses, for their merit and their scientific achievements. Michael's Medal Lecture on "The Complex Physics of Climate Change and Climate Sensitivity: A Grand Unification" was given at the EGU General Assembly in Vienna in April 2012.
